• Beschreibung: Hydroxytyrosol is a polyphenolic compound with antioxidant properties. It has been shown to have inhibitory effects on HIV replication and intracellular Ca2+ levels. Hydroxytyrosol acetate, the acetate ester of hydroxytyrosol, has been shown to inhibit the oxidation of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and decrease the formation of reactive oxygen species in the mitochondria. This product is extracted from olive leaves and has a matrix effect that increases the solubility and bioavailability of hydroxytyrosol, making it more effective at inhibiting oxidative injury. Hydroxytyrosol acetate also inhibits mitochondrial membrane potential, which can lead to cell death.
