Beschreibung

Cyclohex-3-en-1-yl(2-methylpiperidin-1-yl)methanone is a stereoisomer of cyclohexanemethanol. This compound has been studied in laboratory tests as a potential insecticide. It is an effective insect repellent against mosquitoes and other arthropods that are sensitive to piperidine, such as Culicidae and Diptera. The insecticidal activity of this compound is due to its interaction with the receptor system, which leads to the suppression of neurotransmitter release. Cyclohex-3-en-1-yl(2-methylpiperidin-1-yl)methanone has also been shown to have a strong magnetic property, which can be used for the separation from other compounds in a mixture by means of magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS).
