Cassiaside C is a natural product that has been shown to have insulin-sensitizing effects. It is produced from the leaves of the cassia tree and has been used in Chinese medicine for centuries. Cassiaside C has been shown to inhibit hepg2 cell proliferation and induce cell death by necrosis factor-α (NF-α) induction, hyperoside, and hyperinsulinemia. The mechanism of action for this compound is not yet known, but it may be related to its ability to modulate insulin resistance through inhibition of NF-α production or activation of protein kinase B.
