Beschreibung:JTC-801 is a selective agonist for the κ-opioid receptors and has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of tumor cells in vitro. It binds to κ-opioid receptors on the surface of cells and activates these receptors, which causes an increase in cytosolic calcium. This drug also inhibits the pro-apoptotic protein Bax, leading to apoptosis (cell death). JTC-801 has been shown to have a low toxicity profile in mice and does not cross the blood brain barrier. It also has been found to have a similar affinity for δ-opioid receptors as morphine and shows anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.
