4-[5-Methyl-4-[(4-methylphenyl)sulfonylmethyl]-1,3-oxazol-2-yl]-N-(pyridin-3-ylmethyl)benzamide (BMS-387032) is a selective inhibitor of the human serotonin transporter with potential antidepressant activity. BMS-387032 binds to the serotonin transporter and blocks the reuptake of serotonin. This drug has been shown to produce an oriented response in animal models of depression and has been shown to reduce depressive symptoms in patients with major depressive disorder. The endpoint of this drug is its ability to inhibit the reuptake of serotonin in humans and animals, which produces an antidepressant effect.
