Naphthalene-1-thiocarboxamide undergoes oxidative dimerization in a reaction time of approximately 3 hours at room temperature in chloranil and oxygen, producing hydroxyl radicals as byproducts. Naphthalene-1-thiocarboxamide has also been used as a catalyst for the sonochemical oxidation process due to its high reactivity and stability.
