This immobilization agent is used in medicines to inhibit the enzyme tyrosine kinase and is a promising candidate for cancer treatment. 1-(Piperazin-1-yl)prop-2-en-1-one binds to tyrosine kinase through a divalent linker and prevents the phosphorylation of proteins, leading to a decrease in protein synthesis. 1-(Piperazin-1-yl)prop-2-en-1-one also binds to silicone, which can be used as an artificial cell membrane for tumour cells.
