Produktinformation
Boc-Val-Ala-OH is a glycopeptide that has been evaluated as a potential drug for diabetes. It inhibits the release of insulin from the pancreas and reduces blood glucose levels. Boc-Val-Ala-OH binds to an acceptor site on the pancreatic cells, where it forms a complex with cyclopropanes. This complex induces the synthesis of cyclopropane fatty acids, which inhibit cell proliferation. The conjugates formed from Boc-Val-Ala-OH and cyclopropanes are excreted in the urine, and pharmacokinetic studies have shown that Boc-Val-Ala-OH does not accumulate in tissues or cause adverse effects. Clinical trials have found that Boc Val Ala OH has no effect on type 1 diabetics but can be effective for type 2 diabetics.
