Beschreibung

FTI-277 is a novel small molecule that binds to the P2Y receptor on tumor cells, which prevents ATP from binding and activating the receptor. It has been shown to inhibit the mitochondrial membrane potential and induce apoptosis in HL-60 cells and K562 cells. FTI-277 also inhibits HIV infection in vivo. The drug is not toxic to normal cells, suggesting that it may be an effective chemotherapeutic agent for treatment of cancer and HIV infection.
