• Beschreibung: Blarcamesine hydrochloride is a new acetylcholinesterase inhibitor that has been shown to have neuroprotective effects in animal models of Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and stroke. Animal studies show that blarcamesine hydrochloride binds to the active site of kinase-3β (a protein involved in autophagy) and inhibits the phosphorylation of tau protein. This reduces the number of tangles which are associated with Alzheimer's disease. Blarcamesine hydrochloride also has anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to induce mitochondrial biogenesis.
