Beschreibung

7-O-Ethylmorroniside is a loganic acid derivative, which is a potential drug for the treatment of inflammatory diseases. This compound has been shown to have anti-inflammatory potency in animal models and in vitro. 7-O-Ethylmorroniside can be used as an anti-inflammatory agent and possesses potent antimalarial activity. It was found to be more effective than chloroquine in inhibiting the growth of Plasmodium falciparum, the parasite that causes malaria. 7-O-Ethylmorroniside is also effective against erythrocytic forms of P. falciparum and inhibits protein synthesis. The compound has a chromatographic profile that matches that of other medicines, including phenacetin, acetanilid, and antipyrine.
