Produktinformation
- 2-Chloro-5-iodobenzoic acid methyl ester
- Benzoic acid, 2-chloro-5-iodo-, methyl ester
- Methyl 2-Chloro-5-Iodobenzoate
Methyl 2-chloro-5-iodobenzoate is an insecticide that has been shown to be effective against mosquitoes and larvae. It is a lead compound, which means it acts as a precursor for the synthesis of other compounds. When applied to mosquito larvae, methyl 2-chloro-5-iodobenzoate causes cyanation and pesticidal activity. The compound has also been shown to have bioisosterism with benzamides, which are used in the control of fungi and insects. Methyl 2-chloro-5-iodobenzoate is not active against fungal spores or fungi that do not produce chitin or cellulose, such as Aspergillus niger or Trichoderma harzianum. Methyl 2-chloro-5-iodobenzoate has also been shown to have larvicidal activities against mosquito larvae when applied at high concentrations.
