Beschreibung:N1-(Pyrimidin-2-yl)ethane-1,2-diamine dihydrochloride (NPE2D) is a novel antitumor agent that has shown to inhibit the activation of mitochondrial membrane potential, which is essential for cell proliferation. NPE2D also has antioxidative properties, which may be beneficial in the treatment of atherosclerosis and cancer. This drug also inhibits receptor activity by blocking the function of anion radical scavenging and cytosolic Ca2+. It may be used to treat cancer as well as other diseases such as atherosclerosis.
