Produktinformation
2-(1H-Benzoimidazol-2-ylsulfanyl)-butyric acid is a bicyclic carboxylic acid that is stabilized by ionic, intermolecular hydrogen bonds. This compound has been shown to be an inhibitor of bacterial growth and it does not show any in vitro cytotoxicity against a variety of human cells. 2-(1H-Benzoimidazol-2-ylsulfanyl)-butyric acid binds to the bacterial enzyme dihydrofolate reductase and blocks the synthesis of purines and pyrimidines, which are necessary for bacterial DNA replication.
