Ethyl 1-methyl-2-oxopiperidine-3-carboxylate (E1MOPC) is a synthetic compound that is used as a reagent in organic synthesis. It is a nucleophile and can be used to introduce an ethoxy group at the C-3 position of the piperidine ring. This reaction is called condensation and it proceeds through a substitution reaction with sodium ethoxide in the presence of fluoroborate.
