Beschreibung

Bucindolol is a beta-blocker that binds to the beta-adrenergic receptor and blocks the binding of catecholamines. It has been shown to reduce myocardial infarct size in rats, as well as natriuretic peptide levels. Bucindolol also inhibits the activity of several enzymes, including angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE), phosphodiesterase III, and protein kinase C. These effects have been shown to have a positive effect on congestive heart failure patients by reducing systolic pressure and improving cardiac output. Bucindolol has also shown anti-PCSK9 antibody activity in mice models and may be able to lower cholesterol levels.
