Hepsulfam is a covalent linker that has been designed to target the cb2 receptor in cancer cells. Hepsulfam binds to DNA duplexes and prevents transcription of genes. It also binds to fatty acids in the cell membrane, inhibiting the growth of bacteria. The analog has shown an ability to kill probiotic bacteria, which may be due to its binding with fatty acids in the bacterial membrane.
