Triptobenzene H is a natural product that has been shown to inhibit the enzyme activity of the virus. This compound is a monocarboxylic acid, which is structurally related to abietane. Triptobenzene H may be used as an antiviral drug for the treatment of diseases caused by viruses, such as HIV and Ebola. Triptobenzene H has been shown to block viral replication by inhibiting the function of enzymes during viral replication. It also inhibits the deubiquitinase that removes ubiquitin from proteins, thereby preventing degradation of these proteins. The inhibition of these enzymes leads to a buildup of protein in cells infected with virus, leading to cell death.
