Fesoterodine is a natriuretic agent that belongs to the beta-amino acid group of cyclic peptides. It is a synthetic fluorinated analogue of erythromycin. Fesoterodine has been shown to be effective against trifluoroacetic acid, lectin concanavalin A, and spatially high resistance in cancer cells. Fesoterodine binds to the epidermal growth factor receptor on the surface of cancer cells, which causes a reduction in cell proliferation. This drug also prevents the binding of matrix metalloproteinase MMP-2 and MMP-9 to their respective receptors, leading to inhibition of tumor invasion and metastasis.
Fesoterodine has been shown to inhibit the production of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) by blocking their activation at the cell membrane with competitive inhibition. The MMPs are enzymes that degrade extracellular matrix components and play an important role
