Beschreibung

Anhydronotoptol (AN) is a natural product extracted from the leaves of an Asteraceae plant. It is a heat-shock protein that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic activities in vitro. AN has also been shown to inhibit monoamine oxidase, which may be helpful for treating diabetic neuropathy. AN has also been shown to inhibit the production of proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines, such as interleukin-1β, tumor necrosis factor α, and macrophage inflammatory protein 1α, which are thought to play a role in the development of inflammatory diseases. AN also contains coumarin derivatives and bergapten that may contribute to its pharmacological properties.
