Beschreibung:2-Methyl-3-(4-methylphenyl)-3,4-dihydroquinazolin-4-one is a benzoyl peroxide derivative that is used as a thermal stabilizer in polymers. It is prepared by bromination of 2-methyl-3-(4-methylphenyl) quinazoline and then reacting the bromine with benzoyl peroxide. 2-Methyl-3-(4-methylphenyl)-3,4-dihydroquinazolin-4-one has been shown to be an efficient catalyst for the hydrobromic acid catalyzed conversion of benzoyl chlorides to their corresponding peroxyacids.2mMDQQ has been studied for its ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes, as well as Candida albicans yeast cells.
