Beschreibung:
2-Vinyloxytetrahydropyran is a non-nucleoside inhibitor of the HIV-1 reverse transcriptase. It is structurally related to acyclic nucleoside analogues. 2-Vinyloxytetrahydropyran binds to the active site of the enzyme and blocks the formation of covalent bonds between nucleotides, which prevents synthesis of viral DNA. 2-Vinyloxytetrahydropyran has been shown to be effective in vitro and in vivo against HIV-1, although has not been tested for activity against any other retroviruses.
