Beschreibung

BW 245C is a synthetic, nonsteroidal compound that binds to the 2-adrenergic receptor, thereby inhibiting its function. BW 245C has shown efficacy in reducing inflammation and pain in animal models of inflammatory bowel disease. This drug also inhibits prostaglandin production by binding to cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and blocks the synthesis of basic protein. BW 245C has been found to be effective against human osteosarcoma cell lines with a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay and showed anti-inflammatory cytokine il-10 activity in vivo.
