Beschreibung

Malabaricone A is a natural compound that is found in the leaves of the Malabar Tamarind tree. It can be used as an inhibitor for cell signaling pathways and has been shown to have reactive properties against carcinoma cells. Malabaricone A is also known to decrease mitochondrial membrane potential and inhibit cycle analysis in cancer cells, which may lead to a chemotherapeutic agent for the treatment of cancer. Malabaricone A also has anti-inflammatory properties and has been shown to be effective against infectious diseases such as malaria. This compound can be extracted from acetate or by chemical synthesis. Its structure consists of an oxygenated ring system with conjugated double bonds at carbons 4-5, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18, 19-20 and 22-23. The molecular weight is 276 Daltons with a melting point of about 230 degrees Celsius.
