Beschreibung

Marrubiin is a natural compound that has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity. It has been used in vitro to study the effect of estradiol benzoate on endometriosis and diterpenes. Marrubiin has also been shown to inhibit the mitochondrial membrane potential in vivo, which may be due to its ability to activate cell factor. This compound is structurally related to dihydroconiferyl alcohol, which is an intermediate in the synthesis of lignin, a component of plant cell walls. Marrubiin has high water permeability and can be used for drug delivery systems.
