Beschreibung

4-(2-(1H-Imidazol-1-yl)ethoxy)benzoic acid hydrochloride is a fatty acid synthetase inhibitor that inhibits the synthesis of long chain fatty acids. It was developed as a potential treatment for inflammatory bowel disease, but has not been studied in humans. 4-(2-(1H-Imidazol-1-yl)ethoxy)benzoic acid hydrochloride has been shown to lower systolic blood pressure in rats and has been found to be non-toxic in animal toxicity studies at up to 1000 mg/kg per day. This drug also blocks the production of endothelin-A, which may have therapeutic benefits in experimental models of heart failure and chronic kidney disease.
