Beschreibung

Oxpoconazole fumarate is a synthetic antibiotic that belongs to the azole family. It is used in medicine as an antifungal, antiviral, and antiparasitic agent. Oxpoconazole fumarate inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, which is an essential component of fungal cell membranes. This inhibition leads to leakage of cellular contents and eventual cell death. Oxpoconazole fumarate also exhibits antibacterial activity by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis at ribosomes, leading to cell death.

Oxpoconazole fumarate has been shown to be active against a broad range of microorganisms including viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasites. It has been approved for use in humans for the treatment of cryptococcosis (a type of yeast infection), and it has been used in veterinary medicine for the treatment of coccidiosis (a parasitic infection) in poultry.
