Bromuro de hidrógeno (HBr) es un gas incoloro a temperatura ambiente, caracterizado por su olor penetrante y naturaleza corrosiva. Es una molécula diatómica compuesta de hidrógeno y bromo, y se disuelve fácilmente en agua para formar ácido bromhídrico, un ácido fuerte que se disocia completamente en solución acuosa. HBr es altamente soluble en disolventes polares y puede reaccionar vigorosamente con bases y agentes oxidantes. Hydrobromic acid is a weak acid that can be used as an oxidizing agent in organic syntheses.
