Benceno, metil- comúnmente conocido como tolueno, es un hidrocarburo aromático con la fórmula química C7H8. Se caracteriza por un anillo de benceno con un solo grupo metilo unido, lo que contribuye a sus propiedades distintivas. El tolueno es un líquido incoloro y volátil con un olor dulce y penetrante, y es menos denso que el agua.
