CAS:2,4,6-Tribromophenol is a chemical compound that has been shown to be an effective antibacterial agent. It is synthesized from the reaction of sodium carbonate and 2,4-dichlorobenzoic acid. The antimicrobial activity of tribromophenol is due to its ability to kill bacteria on surfaces, such as in water or soil. Tribromophenol is also toxic to humans and can cause redness and peeling of the skin when it comes into contact with the skin. This chemical compound has been used in a number of clinical trials for treatment of bacterial infections and was found to be effective against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Clostridium perfringens.
