2,2′-Metilenbis[4-metil-6-terc-butilfenol], comúnmente conocido como MBT, es un compuesto orgánico que se utiliza principalmente como antioxidante en diversas aplicaciones industriales, particularmente en plásticos y caucho. Presenta una estructura bifenólica, que contribuye a su efectividad en la prevención de la degradación oxidativa de los materiales. El compuesto se caracteriza por su relativamente alto punto de fusión y baja solubilidad en agua, lo que lo hace más soluble en disolventes orgánicos. MBT exhibe buena estabilidad térmica, lo que es ventajoso en aplicaciones a alta temperatura. Además, tiene un olor aromático distintivo y es típicamente un sólido a temperatura ambiente.
