Óxido de hafnio, también conocido como hafnia, es un compuesto químico con la fórmula HfO₂. Es un sólido cristalino blanco que exhibe alta estabilidad térmica y es insoluble en agua. Óxido de hafnio tiene un alto punto de fusión y es conocido por sus excelentes propiedades dieléctricas, lo que lo hace valioso en la industria electrónica, particularmente en la producción de capacitores y como dieléctrico de puerta en transistores. El compuesto también se caracteriza por su alto índice de refracción y se utiliza en recubrimientos ópticos.
