Goserelin acetate

Goserelin acetate is a synthetic decapeptide analog of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), which is produced chemically through solid-phase peptide synthesis. It functions by acting as a potent agonist of the GnRH receptor. Extended stimulation of the GnRH receptors in the pituitary gland leads to downregulation and subsequent suppression of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) secretion, resulting in a decrease in circulating sex hormone levels, specifically testosterone and estrogen.
