2-Methoxyphenyl)(1-pentyl-1H-indole-3-yl)methanone is a synthetic cannabinoid that binds to the cannabinoid receptors. It has been shown to inhibit the binding of guanine nucleotide-binding protein (G protein), and to increase the production of inositol phosphates. 2-Methoxyphenyl)(1-pentyl-1H-indole-3-yl)methanone also inhibits the binding of GTPγS to its receptor, which may be responsible for its cannabimimetic effects. This compound has been shown to have antiinflammatory properties by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.
