Ácido tetrahidrofólico, también conocido como tetrahidrofolato (THF), es un derivado de la vitamina B soluble en agua que desempeña un papel crucial en el metabolismo celular, particularmente en la síntesis de ácidos nucleicos y aminoácidos. Es la forma activa del folato, que es esencial para la síntesis, reparación y metilación del ADN, lo que lo hace vital para la división y el crecimiento celular.
