Descripción:
Acetato de exenatida es un péptido sintético que imita la acción de la hormona incretina GLP-1 (péptido similar al glucagón-1), que juega un papel crucial en el metabolismo de la glucosa. Se utiliza principalmente en el tratamiento de la diabetes tipo 2 para mejorar el control glucémico. La sustancia se caracteriza por su capacidad para estimular la secreción de insulina en respuesta a niveles elevados de glucosa en sangre, inhibir la liberación de glucagón y ralentizar el vaciamiento gástrico, reduciendo así los picos de azúcar en sangre postprandiales.     <p>Applications A 39-amino acid peptide originally isolated from the salivary glands of the Gila monster (Heloderma suspectum), differs from exendin-3 only in two positions close to the N-terminus. Application of exenatide causes an increase in acinar cAMP without stimulating amylase release. As an incretin mimetic, exenatide acts as agonist of the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor.
