Descripción:
Ácido 4-morfolinoetanosulfónico, hidrato (1:1), comúnmente conocido como MES, es un tampón zwitteriónico ampliamente utilizado en aplicaciones bioquímicas y de biología molecular. Presenta un anillo de morfolina, que contribuye a su solubilidad y estabilidad en soluciones acuosas. La sustancia se caracteriza por su capacidad para mantener un pH estable, típicamente en el rango de 6.0 a 7.5, lo que la hace adecuada para varios experimentos biológicos, incluidos ensayos enzimáticos y cultivos celulares. Se conoce que el MES tiene una baja absorbancia en el rango UV, lo que es ventajoso para mediciones espectrofotométricas.
