Ácido 4-aminobenzoico, comúnmente conocido como PABA, es una amina aromática y un derivado del ácido benzoico. Presenta un grupo amino (-NH2) para al grupo carboxilo (-COOH) en el anillo bencénico, lo que contribuye a sus propiedades químicas. El PABA es un sólido cristalino blanco que es soluble en agua y alcohol, pero menos soluble en disolventes no polares. Tiene un punto de fusión que típicamente cae dentro de un rango específico, lo que indica su estabilidad bajo condiciones estándar.
