CAS:Producto controlado11-Deoxycorticosterone (11DOC) is a naturally occurring corticosteroid that has been studied as a potential treatment for cancer. 11DOC is an antagonist of the mineralocorticoid receptor, which regulates sodium and potassium ions in the body. It also inhibits lymphocyte transformation and cell nuclei. The 11DOC-induced tumor regression was found to be due to decreased cortisol concentrations and increased corticosterone concentration in the experimental model. Increased corticosterone concentration led to cell lysis, while decreased cortisol concentration inhibited inflammatory lesion growth. Structural analysis revealed that 11DOC binds to the mineralocorticoid receptor with high affinity, but does not bind with high affinity to the glucocorticoid receptor.
