7-Bromo-4-oxo-1,4-dihydroquinoline-3-carboxylic acid is an antimicrobial agent that belongs to the class of quinolones. It is active against gram negative bacteria, including E. coli. 7-Bromo-4-oxo-1,4-dihydroquinoline-3-carboxylic acid has been shown to be effective in aseptic inflammation models and in muscle infection models. In these experiments, labeling with radioactive isotopes was used to study the biodistribution of 7BODQC in infected animals. The results showed uptake of this drug into tissues, including muscle tissue and bone marrow.
