Dofequidar fumarate is an anticancer drug that belongs to the class of pyrimidine compounds. It has been shown to inhibit growth of cancer cells in clinical studies. Dofequidar fumarate inhibits the production of epidermal growth factor, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the activity of p-glycoprotein (P-gp). Dofequidar fumarate also has a high affinity for cancer tissue and can be used as a chemosensitizer, increasing the effectiveness of other anticancer drugs such as degarelix acetate.
