EPPS, o ácido 4-(2-hidroxietil)-1-piperazina-propanosulfónico, es un tampón zwitteriónico comúnmente utilizado en aplicaciones biológicas y bioquímicas. Se caracteriza por su capacidad para mantener un pH estable en soluciones acuosas, lo que lo hace particularmente útil en experimentos que involucran enzimas y proteínas que requieren condiciones de pH específicas para una actividad óptima.
