This enzyme is involved in the synthesis of uridine nucleotides, which are required for RNA and DNA synthesis. 1DXP has been shown to be effective against hepatitis B virus and lymphocytic leukemia cells in vitro. The mechanism of action of 1DXP is not well understood, but it may be related to the inhibition of protein synthesis or cellular metabolism.
