1,2-Dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-o-4'-(N,N,N-trimethyl)-homoserine is a fatty acid derivative that is naturally found in plants. It has been shown to have hypoglycemic effects on mice. 1,2-Dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-o-4'-(N,N,N-trimethyl)-homoserine also inhibits methyltransferase activity and has been shown to be a stable complex with zirconium oxide. This compound has also been shown to inhibit the growth of human cancer cells and reduce the levels of plasma lipids in mice.1,2
