CAS:3-Noradamantane carboxylic acid is a reactive, resistant, naphthenic hydrocarbon that is used to extract chloride from natural gas. It has been shown to damage genetic material and induce mutations in the calf thymus DNA. 3-Noradamantane carboxylic acid is also an extractant for trifluoride and can be used as a synthetic intermediate for other organic compounds. 3-Noradamantane carboxylic acid has been shown to have genotoxic potential through its ability to produce reactive oxygen species that are able to alkylate DNA and induce oxidative damage.
