    <p>Pyrrolidine-2-carbonitrile 4-methylbenzenesulfonate is a chiral secondary amine. It is used as a crystallization agent for the preparation of pyrrolidines. Pyrrolidine-2-carbonitrile 4-methylbenzenesulfonate can be prepared by the reaction of pyrrolidine with methyl benzenesulfonyl chloride in the presence of ammonium chloride, followed by hydrolysis to form the ammonium salt. The compound can also be prepared by reacting cyanuric chloride with 2,6-dimethylaniline and then converting it to an acid chloride with thionyl chloride. Pyrrolidine-2-carbonitrile 4-methylbenzenesulfonate is available as a white crystalline solid.<br>The properties of this product are affected by impurities, such as the presence of chlorides or salifying agents, which should be removed before use.
