    5-Azidopentan-1-ol is a monoclonal antibody that is used in the detection of influenza virus. It is immobilized on a glycan matrix, which can be used to detect and quantify influenza virus or its antigens. The fluoroquinolone antibiotics have high resistance to degradation by glycosidases, giving this antibody an advantage over other methods for detecting influenza virus. 5-Azidopentan-1-ol has been shown to be effective in immunoassays for the detection of influenza A viruses, as well as analogs that may be resistant to other antibodies. This antibody has been shown to react with both acceptor and antigen binding sites on the oligosaccharide portion of the glycan molecule. The hydroxyl group at position 5 on the pentane ring allows for conjugation with a linker such as silver trifluoromethanesulfonate (STFS) and subsequent attachment to
