CAS:<p>Myt1 is a human ion channel protein that belongs to the superfamily of ligand-gated ion channels. The protein is localized in the postsynaptic membrane and is activated by glutamate. Myt1 plays an important role in synaptic plasticity and memory formation, which are essential for learning and memory. Myt1 has also been shown to be involved in the regulation of neuronal excitability because it mediates calcium influx into neurons and regulates potassium efflux from neurons.
