CAS:Diallyl trisulfide (DATS) is a naturally occurring compound that has been shown to induce apoptosis in human prostate cancer cells. DATS targets the viral DNA polymerase, preventing DNA synthesis and causing cell death. DATS is also an anti-inflammatory agent, inhibiting the production of prostaglandins by blocking cyclooxygenase-2. This inhibition results in decreased inflammation and pain. DATS also binds to methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), leading to the inhibition of DNA synthesis and cell death.
