CAS:1,2,3,4-Tetrahydro-1-naphthylamine is a potent opioid antagonist that binds to the κ-opioid receptor. It is used as a research tool for studying the actions of κ-opioid receptors and for examining their role in pain regulation. This drug has been shown to inhibit rat liver microsomal hydroxylation of dopamine and also inhibits enzyme activity that converts dopamine to norepinephrine. 1,2,3,4-Tetrahydro-1-naphthylamine has also been shown to be an antagonist at glucocorticoid receptors. The kinetic properties of this drug have been studied by electrochemical detection methods and amines can be analyzed using GC/MS analysis.
